NINTH LAGER LOVELIES

(CENTENARY SET - 100 YEARS OF TENNENT'S LAGER)

(1985 - 1986)

Georgina

GEORGINA 1885 (Ladies' bustles rustled everywhere and Tennent's successfully brewed the country's first lager at Wellpark Brewery, Glasgow.)

Karen

KAREN 1925 (It may have been the era of Jazz, the Charleston and the Blues... but there were no Blues around when Tennent's Lager was such a success.)

Janis

JANIS 1935 (A testing time for two Scottish 'all-time greats' - the 'Queen Mary' and the first Tennent's Lager cans. Both were winners - a double reason to celebrate.)

Shona

SHONA 1940 (Rationingat home and war clouds over Europe did not mean much to cheer about. Still.... there was always Tennent's Lager and Forces' Sweethearts.)

Shona

GEORGINA 1950 (The war was over but rationing was not. Thank goodness there was pleanty of Tennent's Lager, as cool and refreshing as ever.)

Shona

SHONA 1955 (Mm... quite tasty! Enough to get you foaming - which is what happened to the new Tennent's Lager glasses. More of a 'Seventy' than a 'Seven Year Itch')

Karen

KAREN 1965 ( Mini's - both skirts and cars - for the 'Swinging Sixties' and more than a mini-boom in the popularity of Tennent's Lager with the arrival of the first 'Lager Lovely')

Janis

JANIS 1985 (Good health! In an era devoted to keeping fit it's only fitting that Tennent's Lager should live to be a hundred. Here's to the next century !)
